A few weeks ago Mom went over to get GG up and dressed for the day. Mom usually talks to her and sings silly songs as they go along. Mom started singing, "It's time to get up. It's time to get up" Mom paused to listen to GGpa real quick and clear as day GG finished the song, "It's early in the morning." Shocked speechless.
Another time when Mom was helping GG get up and dressed, I guess she thought Mom pulled her pants up a bit to hard.
GG looked straight at Mom and muttered to herself, "Good Grief!"
GG's still in there...

Spring
Not much has happened the last few months.
Brionney still loves to rub lotion on GGs hands.
They try and communicate; they jabber back and forth as Grandma is rarely able to form words.
GG seems to enjoy Brionney's company when she crawls into her lap.
GG has had many visitors. Tina and her family have come often the last few months. Each of GG's great-grandchildren take a moment with her during their visits. This is Maddie taking her turn to help GG eat her lunch.
Grandma has declined in these last weeks. She is no longer able to communicate. Every now and then a word will get through but she mainly babbles. She is also sleeping more often. On a good note she is well cared for. She is loved. She is surrounded by family and loved ones.

Grandma before she was Grandma
I found some treasures:
Bobbette with her firstborn, Heather- 1957.
Marco and Bobbette in 1969, before they were married.
They were on their way to the Christmas dance.
Isn't she beautiful?
This is Bobbette on her wedding day.
This photo was later used to paint a portrait of her.
To this day, it hangs above her bed. Beautiful and serene.
Their family:

Front row: Mark, Tamra
Their family in 1993:
Back row: Jim, Mark, Bonnie
Front Row: Tamra, Marco, Bobbette, Heather
Bobbette with her father, AV Clark. He was 102 when he passed away.
Bobbette with her sister Vera. Vera came to live with Bobbette and Marco for the last several weeks before she passed away from cancer and dementia. Bobbette was a talented quilter- she won many awards for her quilts. She had Vera help her quilt while they visited. Those quilts will be treasured forever.
Bobbette and Marco with their first Great Grandson, Hunter.

Granddaughter Sheri
This is my favorite picture of Grandma This was taken in 2006 before Alzheimer's took her mind. She and I were goofing off in the kitchen, dancing around and such. Matthew took my camera and told us to pose. We laughed and did. Grandma then turned to me and said with a grin, "It was funny. I popped my foot up for the picture." All I could do was laugh and told her I did too.
Grandma was always so happy and loved to have a good time. She loved her family and the gospel more than anything in the world. She is a great example for her family and friends.
Miss you and love you Grandma. XOXO
Love, Sheri

Great granddaughter, Brionney
We got to spent time with Grandma today. Her skin was super dry so Brionney and I lotioned her up. Brionney really got into it and would not stop rubbing lotion on GG's hand.
And then she decided GG needed lotion on her face so she climbed right up.
GG was very patient with her and allowed Brionney to sit on her lap. Several times they even engaged in a conversation; they babbled back and forth. It was so cute to watch.
Brionney loves her GG to pieces. If GG is at our house, Brionney must be close by. Today when GG became upset, Brionney sang her Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star- over and over. Usually, Brionney runs and finds a stool to stand on. She stands by GG, holds her hand, and tells her that she loves her and that everything is ok. Before Brionney leaves she always tells GG again that she loves her and usually GG gets a couple kisses as well. She loves her GG.
Grandson Jonathan
I think I was about 8 years old and both Jason (our cousin) and I spent a week in California with Grandma and Grandpa. I remember Grandma taking us for donuts at a little shop down the street. After that her and grandpa took the both of us to see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Grandma had all kinds of activities planned out for us that week. We went dumpster diving for grandpas birthday cake (yes you heard me right), we worked in the garden, we made homemade lemonade, we made homemade t-shirts, and I could never forget the possum that we caught in a cage that was stealing all the cat food. They let us spray that poor thing with the hose so much I don't think it ever came back. Most of all I remember that Grandma loved us very much and that she had an absolute love for the gospel. What a missionary she was. She would start conversations with total strangers about the gospel. She would always express how much respect she had for her parents. She has always been a wonderful example to me and I will forever be thankful for that.

Sister-in-law JoAnn Memory
I think the thing that I remember most about Bobbette is how kind & loving she always was to me. She would always feed me when I came over. She was multi-talented, & could sew whatever she wanted to.
Love always, JoAnn Cooper
Neice Holly's Memory
I have many fond memories of Aunt Bobbette. She has been a beacon of light over the years. When I was little and we would come to California, it was always Aunt Bobbette’s kitchen that made me feel warm and invited. She was usually there making something we were all going to enjoy. And she has always had the most kind way about her. Her smile, her voice, and her words were carefully chosen and lifted and blessed us.
Aunt Bobbette has been a sweet role model to me. I loved reading this blog. Thank you for sharing. God bless you both.
Your neice,
Holly Waite
Granddaughter Emily's Memory
3 years ago we lived across the driveway from GG and GG pa. During this time GG quickly became Emily's best friend! Everyday they walked up and down the driveway for GG's exercise. They'd sit together on the porch swings and visit with one another. When Emily got in trouble she wanted to go to GG's. Emily wanted to do everything with her GG! Emily invited GG and GG pa to her 4th birthday party but we weren't sure they were going to make it. GG was showing signs of alzheimers and sometimes she had a hard time being around a lot of people and commotion. But they did come! Emily was thrilled that they came over for cake and ice cream. Emily was excited to show GG her new big baby doll that she had asked for.

Happy New Year
Happy New Year from Bobbette!!!
She was able to ring in the new year comfy cozy at home, safe and sound. I, Sheri, was able to sit with her this Sunday so that Grandpa could attend church. She slept for awhile then I helped her look through her family picture book. This book has pictures of her and her husband, all their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She didn't seem to recognize anyone but Heather but she perked up when we came to Ciarra's picture, especially when I explained she has a new baby now.
Score. She looked at those pictures for over an hour with an little bit of smile on her face.
Happy New Year everyone!!!
